Hi Seungmin, thank you for your question. The papers do differ, but the Chinese version is administered by ASEEDER and managed separately to the UK paper. I believe you can get in touch with ASEEDER directly here: https://www.seedasdan.asia/en/ukcho-en/
So would the new updated grade boundaries be out by today? If not could you please tell us what day we would expect to receive the grade boundaries.
Hi Sashvat, thank you for your patience. I'm pleased to confirm that the grade boundaries are now available to view here: https://edu.rsc.org/rsc-education-news/2026-uk-chemistry-olympiad-round-one-results/4023143.article

Hi Ellie, thanks for getting in touch. The grade boundaries will be published in mid-March, in our news section here: https://edu.rsc.org/our-work/rsc-education-news . Don't hesitate to contact us again if you have any further questions!
Hello, a few questions
1. Im in year 10 currently. Am I eligible to attend the UKChO next year?
2. Is there a fixed syllabus to revise on? Do I have to be thourough with the A-Level content before I attend it, or is GCSE enough?
3. How many rounds of nationals would be there before the IChO takes place?
Thank you so much)
Hi Chinmay, thanks for your questions. The Olympiad is aimed at students in their final year before university, so typically participants are in Year 13, though Year 12s confident in their chemistry knowledge could take part. There’s no set syllabus, but the questions typically draw on A-Level (or equivalent) chemistry content, which may be too advanced for GCSE students. The selection process includes a Round 1 written test; a Round 2 assessment to select four students to represent the UK at the IChO; and subsequent training for the international competition. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to email us (https://edu.rsc.org/contact-us).
Hi Runqi, thanks for your question! We normally expect to release past papers around mid-March, though this should be taken as a guide only. If we can be of any further assistance, please don't hesitate to email us :) (see https://edu.rsc.org/contact-us)
Hi Gilbert, thanks for your question and patience! The materials should be available on this page by the end of the week (Friday 3 May).
Hi Elias, we don't have answer booklets for 2003-2018. Sorry!
Hi Warren, the grade boundaries for this year are now available on our website.
Hi Jerry. I suggest getting in touch with ASDAN.
Thanks for your message, the 2022 papers will go on general release in April.
Is there a list of the grade boundaries for the 2003 paper and the other ones without examiner reports
Hi Alexander, we're sorry we couldn't find the grade boundaries from 2003
Hello and thanks for getting in touch. We are going to publish the 2020 Olympiad paper along with the examiners report in approximately one month's time.
Thank you for uploading the answers!
I was wondering whether there is a slight variation between the Chinese version and the UK version. I noticed that not all the questions are the same. I will look forward to your response!
