Escape room puzzles to introduce students to materials properties

The concept of escape rooms, with their puzzles and challenges, can easily be applied to chemistry teaching. In this set of six puzzles, students learn the properties of materials as they solve clues to reveal codes and ultimately win a prize. The puzzles are easy to set up and need little equipment. Topics covered include memory metals, polymers, thermochromic and hydrochromic materials.
