‘Fascinating chemistry’

Students have nothing to lose and a lot to gain from grappling with a different kind of challenge in the Chemistry Olympiad, according to a teacher of chemistry at sixth form.

In this case study, Torben Smith, who teaches at Bilborough Sixth Form College, describes how students meet a completely different style of question in the Olympiad, and explains the benefits for students’ UCAS applications. He also offers his advice on how to encourage students to give the competition a go.
