Have we found a sustainable way to make nitrate from air?

Researchers have developed a new way to produce nitrate, a key ingredient in fertilisers, using electricity instead of fossil fuels. This electrochemical process could significantly reduce the energy consumption and environmental impact of traditional fertiliser production using the Haber process.
