James is a lecturer (teaching and scholarship) in Chemistry at the University of Liverpool. James' interests focus around student-centred learning envirionments, in particular group work and peer-to-peer processes. James is the departmental year 1 coordinator so has a growing interest in school-university transition. James is also employability lead for the department and a senior fellow of AdvanceHE (SFHEA).

Bit late reading this but another interesting read, Kristy. I think it's particularly important considering more students are choosing Chemistry as a core science degree as a stepping stone into other (albeit often related) sectors than perhaps was not the case 20 years ago. This is just a feeling but DHLE/GO stats (at least locally) do suggest this. And, as I'm sure you know, there are key works on core knowledge vs core skills for graduates in employment that complement this nicely.
