The Young Applicants in Schools Scheme

The Young Applicants in Schools Scheme (YASS) is a series of flexible courses from the Open University, designed to give 16+ students an early taste of university, and bridge the gap between school and higher education.

The RSC and the Wolfson Foundation have helped to fund Living without oil: chemistry for a sustainable future - one of a series of these OU courses which introduce key science topics. No prior knowledge in the subject area or the wider sciences is needed, but students must have good written English and basic maths skills.

The Living without oil course starts on the 12 May. Find out more on the YASS website.
