New tool to identify resources

Learn Chemistry, the Royal Society of Chemistry’s online home for chemistry education, is testing a new tool that helps users to identify resources that match their particular curriculum.

The curriculum alignment tool currently lists most chemistry curricula for the UK, US, Canada and India.

Using the ‘Standards or Curriculum’ search, teachers can choose their curriculum and the grade or key stage they teach, to reveal a list of resources. Entering a search term narrows down the results to particular topics. The ‘Content’ search option works in the opposite manner – select a resource and the tool will show how it links to a curriculum.

Jenny O’Hare, RSC education executive, says ‘The tool is still being developed and tested at the moment and we welcome feedback. We have already included feedback from early tests and are aiming to make the tool work seamlessly with the Learn Chemistry platform.

‘If you have any comments or suggestions on how we could improve it, let us know by emailing learn-chemistry@rsc.org.’
