At the event, held last week in Washington DC, the team took part in written and practical chemistry tests against teams from across the world. Their performances were individually assessed - Thomas Spence and Callum Bungey won silver medals, and Ella Mia and Walter Kahm won bronze.

Nicole Morgan, RSC Schools and Colleges Manager, said 'Our congratulations go to this team of talented students who should feel justifiably proud in the way they have represented their country. We would like to thank David Gamblin and Ben Pilgrim who acted as mentors and accompanied them to the US and also to Ineos for their financial support of the team and the UK leg of the competition.'
