Use a combustible powder demo to engage students and teach them about safety in the lab
The dust explosion demonstration is useful for demonstrating rates of reaction, as well as teaching your students about safety. This is an alternative to the howling jelly baby demonstration of the energy content of food, as well as a popular demonstration to illustrate the importance of surface area to rates of reaction. Either way, your students will be captivated!
