New off-grid water treatment technologies are saving lives supplying clean water where there are no taps or pipes

A supply of clean water is an acute, humanitarian issue in many countries after national disasters, and in developing countries with poor infrastructure. Hayley Bennet explains how the filtration and sterilisation processes that underpin water treatment are being developed by modern scientists such as Darren Reynolds at the university of the West of England.
