Can science solve it? This article includes teaching resources
Plastic waste in the oceans is increasingly touching the public consciousness. In the UK, the television documentary Blue planet II played an important role in raising awareness of the issue and its effects on marine life. Hayley Bennett investigates the problem and some possible solutions. Kristy Turner suggests classroom activities and provides ready-to-use resources suitable for lessons on plastics, density or the environment.
