Creating compostable plastic
Plastic is polluting our world, but it’s cheap and convenient. Finding a replacement is difficult so scientists are working hard to develop alternatives that don’t hang around. They are looking at biodegradable and compostable materials, which raise questions about the definitions of these terms. This article explores this complex topic in a way suitable for 16–18 year students.
