Secondary science teachers in the UK are invited to register for Polymer Study Tours
Secondary science teachers in the UK are invited to register for a free, four day residential Polymer Study Tour. The tours are designed to improve participants' knowledge and understanding of the polymer curriculum. The courses bring together teachers in an informal environment to exchange views on the teaching of this cross-curricular subject.
The tours include a mixture of lectures, laboratory and workshop sessions and visits to plastics processing companies. The sessions are delivered by leading figures from industry and academia. Delegates are provided with curriculum teaching resources that promote the knowledge of polymers and their importance to everyday life. All accommodation, meals and refreshments are included.
One previous participant commented 'The tour was fantastic! I found the visits and workshops invaluable to my knowledge and understanding of materials and manufacturing, and the confidence I have gained will undoubtedly be of benefit to my pupils.'
The dates for 2013 are
- Edinburgh Napier University: 23-26 June
- London Metropolitan University: 30 June - 3 July
- University of Manchester: 07-10 July
