The RS are looking for local heroes

As part of its activities to celebrate its 350th anniversary, the Royal Society (RS) has launched a Local Heroes programme. Fifty museums, galleries and libraries around the country are celebrating their local scientific heroes - historical and contemporary fellows of the RS, or individuals who have influenced the work of a fellow. Julie Hodgkinson, at the RS, told Education in Chemistry, 'The programme is a mixture of history, science, culture and art, and aims to develop an interest and pride in local scientists and their achievements'.
