Gratnells, the storage system suppliers, is inviting schools and colleges in the UK to nominate their technicians for their Science Technician of the Year Award 2013
The first prize includes £300 in cash, £750 worth of Gratnells storage system, £1000 of science products from Edu-Lab and a £200 voucher for PASCO equipment from SciChem. There are cash prizes and science storage equipment for the runners-up as well.
Nomination forms are available on the Gratnells website. The judging criteria include good organisational skills, reliability, contribution to teaching and an enterprising approach to their work.
Murray Hudson, managing director of Gratnells, said: 'We are delighted that we are able to highlight the important role science technicians - sometimes called "the forgotten heroes of science" - fulfil in our schools, colleges and academies.'
The deadline for entries is 18 December 2013.
