Technician Sarah Keay explains why school science technicians must not be taken for granted

Science technicians play a vital but often underappreciated role in supporting practical science lessons, ensuring experiments are safe, effective and engaging. They bring essential expertise in preparation, safety and training that allows teachers to focus on teaching. Without proper recognition and support, schools risk losing these skilled professionals – and students will ultimately miss out on valuable hands-on science experiences.
