Jo McMullen
I have taught science for over 30 years within primary and secondary mainstream and special schools, in Jamaica, Australia and England. I am currently Head of Science at Philip Southcote School in Surrey.
I have a Master of Education in Learning and Teaching (MEd) and am a Chartered Science Teacher (CSciTeach) through the ASE and Science Council, and a MCCT of the Chartered College of Teachers. I have an interest in improving science outcomes for students with socio-economic disadvantage and SEND. My Master’s dissertation investigated how to improve the language of disadvantaged students in Year 9 to reduce the attainment gap in science.
When I am not working I can be found down the gym in a dance fitness, Zumba, or Yoga class; running or swimming in training for my next aquathlon; or planning my next holiday.
