How do firefighters do it? That’s the question your learners will explore in this investigation into carbon dioxide foam

In this practical, your learners plan and carry out their own investigation into the reagents that produce carbon dioxide foam. After collecting their results, learners identify which reagent produces the largest volume of foam. Optional questions and a challenge task allow learners to further demonstrate their knowledge and scientific thinking.

The investigative approach will help to develop working scientifically skills and understanding in your learners, preparing and enthusing them for GCSE or equivalent courses and further study in chemistry. The investigation would also work well for a science club. 

Classroom slides, teacher notes, technician notes, a student sheet and an additional student support sheet provide all you need for your lesson.
