Sheffield Hallam University wants to hear your thoughts
On behalf of The Wildlife Trusts and funded by The Ernest Cook Trust, Sheffield Hallam University is looking for your thoughts to help shape a national professional development programme for outdoor learning regardless of subject.

National Careers Week

Give your students fresh inspiration for their future in chemistry
We’ve launched our latest case study, Jamie from Binding Solutions, who is making iron and steel greener and more sustainable. Also, here are plenty of resources for your lessons:

Make a difference with funding for your next STEM activity
Deadline: Friday 6 March, 5pm (UK time)
Plan your next chemistry activity with financial help from the RSC Outreach Fund. The fund enables schools and teachers to deliver meaningful chemistry outreach by providing financial support for engagement activities. You can use the funding to support both new initiatives and the development of existing activities, including:
- chemistry enrichment or science club activities
- chemistry careers sessions and pathway-focused events
- projects involving families or the wider school community through chemistry

What lights up your love of physics? Short video competition for year 12 students
Deadline Tuesday 24 February 2026
There’s still time for year 12 students to enter the Physics Partners short video competition. Students are invited to create a three‑minute video showing what inspires their love of physics, from tackling net zero challenges and exploring the physics of gaming to understanding medical imaging or imagining the future of space exploration.
Prizes include:
- an overnight prize event at King’s College, Cambridge
- £600 in Amazon vouchers (£400 for solo entries)
- £500 worth of physics equipment for the school
- funding for the overall winning team to visit CERN
