Lost Learning in Chemistry project open for applications
The pandemic has had a huge impact on students’ learning, with a lot of hours of education being missed during lockdown and many families not equipped to support childrens’ learning at home. We want to help, and have launched a new initiative, Lost Learning in Chemistry, to offer funding and support to schools to help students catch up on what they’ve already missed and prevent them missing out on more learning in the future.
Applications are open to schools in the UK and Ireland who have more than 25% of students qualifying for free school meals (UK) or are part of the DEIS scheme (ROI), and any member of a school science department can apply.
Get involved in the Chemistry Olympiad
Designed to challenge and inspire, the UK Chemistry Olympiad is the leading chemistry competition for students in secondary education across the British Isles. Taking part is a great way for students to develop their problem solving skills, and to test their existing knowledge of chemistry in real-world situations.
The first round, aimed at students aged at least 16, takes place on 21 January 2021, and registration is now open for all Teach Chemistry schools.
