Aidan Clerkin

Aidan has a background in psychology and is a research fellow at Ireland’s Educational Research Centre (ERC). His work at the ERC includes national and international large-scale assessments of education, programme evaluation, and other topics of research including longitudinal study of socioemotional development in adolescence.

Aidan has a particular interest in the transition year programme in Irish secondary schools. He has provided advice based on research evidence to Ireland’s Department of Education as well as to ministries and other policymakers in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and East Asia.
