Explore the properties of water and ice in this planning activity

An everyday activity, like making ice, can hide some cool chemistry. Use this resource with your key stage 3 and equivalent learners to contextualise everyday science and engage your class in small group work. They will investigate: ‘Which makes ice faster, hot or cold water?’. This is an open-ended problem-solving activity where learners will develop their method writing and planning skills. Download the teacher notes (including answers), MS PowerPoint slides, scaffolded and unscaffolded student worksheets.
