Concrete is the most used material on earth, but its production is responsible for almost 7% of all carbon emissions, thanks to a key ingredient, cement. Currently, scientists around the world are seeking alternatives. This resource on the topic of properties and uses of materials introduces students to the work scientists are doing to make concrete production more sustainable. Use these differentiated, synoptic worksheets to assess students’ recall of prior learning and identify topics for revision.
