Probe learners’ knowledge of setting up electrochemical cells, redox equations and calculations

Identify and target misconceptions in the three main pinch points of electrochemistry: setting up electrochemical cells, redox equations and calculations. Use the multiple choice questions with your A-level and equivalent learners to probe their understanding. After learners peer or self-assess their answers,  they will complete differentiated follow-up tasks to target areas for improvement and increase their understanding of topics, such as the standard hydrogen electrode, the IUPAC conventional representation of an electrochemical cell and using the electromotive force (EMF) of a cell to predict its feasibility. Find the answers in the teacher notes.
