New resources to boost literacy skills
In The Science Teaching Survey, you told us that low literacy was a challenge, and we listened. We’ve developed brand new, comprehensive resource packages to help with literacy skills – and the first three topics are available now:
- Particle model (11–14 years)
- Atomic model (14–16 years)
- Structure and bonding (14–16 years)
The resources cover the language that learners need to understand, and provide opportunities to practice key literacy skills. Choose from key terms glossary support, reading, writing and listening activities. Each resource is editable and can be used with all learners, including EAL and SEND.

Revision help (for teachers and students)
In the lead-up to exams, we’ll be posting helpful content on the RSC’s TikTok using the hashtag #ChemisTRYRevising. Our revision videos are on topics like electrolysis and bonding, as well as common exam mistakes and quick wins. Send your students our way to make their social media time more profitable!
And our revision webpage is full of ideas for how to make revision more active, effective and memorable.
