New videos to help you teach practical skills

We have developed a new set of videos of common investigations, for 14–16 learners, to support you with teaching practical skills. Each video comes with a variety of resources that will help you maximise your learning and support you to run the live practical. These new videos build on our existing range of resources for practicals carried out by both 14–16 and 16–18 year olds, and cover topics including:

  • Conservation of mass
  • Electrolysis of an aqueous solution
  • Halogen displacement reactions

Support LGBT+ students and teachers in your school

To create an environment where the best scientists can flourish and the best science can be done, we need to make sure everyone feels comfortable. Taking concrete steps towards greater LGBT+ inclusivity is a key part of fostering diverse and welcoming scientific workplaces – and that starts in the classroom.

We've created resources that tackle key issues faced by LGBT+ physical scientists and provide tools for everyone to take part in positive change. One of the resources in our toolkit addresses issues specific to teachers.

Help us improve the education website for future users

We are currently working on improvements to the registration process for the education website and we’re looking for volunteers to participate in user testing. If you have an interest or role in education, you’re invited to take part.

The first round of user testing will take place during the week beginning 15 March and should take about 30 minutes.
