Online teacher development courses
Online CPD courses from the Royal Society of Chemistry are designed to support teachers at any stage of their career. Our live online PD courses are delivered by professional teacher developers and cover ten different topic areas throughout November.
We also offer teacher support sessions delivered by local education coordinators taking place in November and covering a range of chemistry topics.
Resources to support your organic chemistry teaching
To help you boost your students’ understanding of organic chemistry, we have produced 37 new worksheets to support key topics for students aged 14 to 16. Our ‘knowledge check’ worksheets provide a set of questions to assess learning of each topic, helping you to see how much your students have understood, and our ‘in context’ worksheets ask students to apply their knowledge to interesting contexts from everyday life and help embed mathematical skills as your students go along.
Both types of worksheet have answers provided, and offer foundation and higher options.
Chemistry for All: virtual results launch and discussion
Wednesday 11 & Tuesday 17 November
Is chemistry accessible for all? Our study, which draws on evidence from five years of outreach in disadvantaged schools, shows that the answer, currently, is no. But this can change.
Join us at this revealing virtual event to discover the evidence that researchers, outreach providers, schools, teachers and policymakers can use to make effective improvements, and to discuss what we can do to remove the barriers that harm student aspirations and attitudes in the chemical sciences.
Accredited degree courses from the RSC
Did you know that the Royal Society of Chemistry selects high-quality degree courses for RSC accreditation?
If your students are thinking about studying chemistry at university, take a look at the courses that we have accredited so that you can point your students in the direction of the highest quality courses, those that will be a stepping stone to them becoming chartered chemists later in their careers.

Can you help us develop our new website for primary science?
We know that primary school teachers need support when it comes to teaching science, and we are in the process of developing a new website to offer advice and inspiration: but we need your help!
We are looking for volunteers to test what we have developed, to make sure that we offer the teaching community the best possible support. If you would like to contribute to the development of our website for primary teachers, please sign up.
RSC is now an official TikTok partner
We have partnered with social media platform TikTok to become the first learned society in the world to join its #LearnOnTikTok programme. The new initiative brings educators, experts, real-world skills creators and non-profits together to build an ecosystem of educational content.
Explore our content and share with your students
Coinciding with our TikTok debut, we have also launched a game for teens on A Future In Chemistry to showcase the vast range of career paths chemistry offers, all of which can make a real difference to people and the planet.
