Eurig Thomas
Eurig Thomas is deputy head teacher at Ysgol Cwm Brombil, a 3-1, all through school in Port Talbot, Wales, where he leads on key aspects of school improvement, behaviour strategy, and staff development. A passionate chemistry educator, Eurig has taught chemistry to learners aged 11–18 in both English and Welsh medium schools, bringing a bilingual and inclusive approach to science education.
Throughout his career, Eurig has been committed to the wider chemistry teaching community, leading a Welsh language A-level chemistry network for many years. As a teacher developer with the RSC, he has delivered subject-specific training and support to educators across Wales, championing high-quality, evidence-informed practice in the classroom. He has also been both a chemistry and princiapal examiner in practical science assessment for WJEC.
Now in a senior leadership role, he continues to drive innovation and equity in education, from implementing digital behaviour tracking systems to introducing wellbeing-focused interventions. Eurig remains firmly committed to supporting teachers and inspiring the next generation of chemists in both languages.
