The Royal Society of Chemistry are hosting a series of events, designed to support new teachers as they begin or continue their journey in science education. It is primarily aimed at teachers who have been teaching less than five years but if teachers would like a reminder of different ways to manage behaviour then they would also be welcome to attend. Spaces are limited so we advise that people sign up early. You can book to attend all the sessions in the series or just the ones that suit your needs!

Session outcomes:

By the end of the session, you will:

  • Go through some simple tips and tricks to manage behaviour
  • Take away some strategies for managing behaviour during practical work
  • Know where to find resources to support behaviour management

Session information

The Royal Society of Chemistry is committed to supporting those who teach chemistry. This session will be run by Emma Owens who is an assistant subject leader of science at Horizon Community College in Barnsley. She won the RSC Early Career Prize for Excellence in Secondary and Further Education in 2021. In this session Emma will go through some tips and tricks of behaviour management for Science teachers and some of the resources and articles produced by the RSC that can support in this area. There will be opporunity to ask questions.
