
Martin Coombes
Martin is a physics specialist who has taught in three schools in the Yorkshire region, holding various departmental leadership roles and mentoring trainee science teachers. More recently, he has used his experience to develop the White Rose science curriculum to align with their secondary maths curriculum, incorporating the Institute of Physics' energy stores and pathways model and working with other subject specialists to unify the use of energy across the science curriculum. Martin is a keen advocate for simplifying science language to make it more accessible for young people, and making quality resources that encourage deeper thought and application of key concepts (and save teachers planning time).
