Support service for secondary schools keeps on growing
Teach Chemistry – the RSC’s free service that launched in September 2019 to support secondary school teachers across the UK and Ireland – surpassed 3000 members in February, meaning that more and more teachers are gaining access to high-quality support in their chemistry teaching. In fact, 89% of Teach Chemistry users have used the website in the last three months.
The service aims to support anyone working at a secondary school, college or teacher training institution in the UK and Ireland to deliver engaging chemistry lessons in the classroom, as well as to build a supportive science department in their school. Members receive benefits designed to support them in these areas, such as full access to the curriculum explorer, local events, funding opportunities and 50% off online CPD.
Emily Howe, Service Manager – Teach Chemistry, said ‘This is only the beginning. We are delighted about the uptake so far and we encourage any schools that have yet to sign up to register so they can access the wealth of free support and development opportunities available. We’re excited to see how we can continue to develop Teach Chemistry, so that over time it provides schools with even more benefits and support to help them provide a rich and engaging chemistry curriculum.’
