Shaun Allison

Shaun Allison is head of school improvement at Durrington Multi-Academy Trust. He is also the director of the Durrington Research¬†School ‚Äď one of only 22 Research Schools in the country. With over 20 years‚Äô experience working at coastal comprehensives, Shaun¬†understands the challenges faced by these schools and how to overcome these challenges. His leadership role is centred around¬†supporting teachers and leaders to develop an evidence informed approach to classroom practice, through purposeful and personalised¬†professional learning ‚Äď so that they can focus on their core purpose. He also writes the successful Classteaching blog and is an¬†author. His most recent books,¬†Perfect teacher led CPD¬†and¬†Making every lesson count¬†(co-authored with Andy Tharby), have¬†both been hugely successful.

Shaun is a popular speaker at national conferences and has worked with a number of organisations on a variety of projects, including¬†the DfE. This has involved using an assessment innovation grant to develop a method of ‚Äėassessment without levels‚Äô in Key Stage 3¬†and, more recently, working as a part of their workload solutions consultation.
