Clara Barker
Clara Barker works in the Department of Materials managing the Centre for Applied Superconductivity at Oxford University. She is the vice-chair of the LGBT+ advisory group, a proud transgender campaigner and a loud advocate for LGBTI+ diversity in STEM.
She also runs the local LGBTI+ youth group TOPAZ (including a parent support group), visits local schools to provide talks, is a Stonewall role model and Stonewall school role model, and blogs, vlogs and tweets to anyone who will listen.
In 2017 she received a Points of Light award from the prime minister for her work with LGBT+ youth and in 2018 received the first Oxford University diversity role model award.
