Encourage students to assess risk effectively
Teachers and technicians worry about the health and safety implications and risks involved with certain experiments and demonstrations. In reality, as long as teachers and students are confident with handling the apparatus and they have considered the risks involved (ie done a risk assessment), then most practical activities can be carried out safely in the lab. This article looks at how to stay safe.
