Catalysts and reaction conditions for sustainable industry | 16–18 years

This activity gives your learners an opportunity to practise effective research and presentation skills while learning more about catalysts and reaction conditions in the context of sustainable industry and UN Sustainable development goal 9: build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation.

Learners are asked to research a range of industrial processes and product syntheses using the The Essential Chemical Industry – online. They will learn about the catalysts, temperature and pressure conditions, and calculate atom ecomomy. They then present their findings in a choice of formats. With prompts for peer and self-assessment and reflection.
