Redox chemistry with dichromate ions

Observe the colour changes that occur with the reduction of dichromate ions by hydrogen peroxide. Includes kit list and safety instructions.

In this experiment, students will reduce dichromate ions by hydrogen peroxide, and will discover some interesting properties of that reaction. They’ll be tasked to explore what type of reaction occurs, and find out more from their observations.
