Help to shape our education work on sustainability and climate change

We believe that a successful chemistry education should enable pupils to make informed decisions about sustainability issues and provide them with the right skills and knowledge to be able to work in green jobs in the chemical sciences.

To help us focus our future work in this area, we want to hear about your experiences teaching sustainability and climate change, your thoughts on the current curriculum and your opinion on the most important skills and knowledge for learners to have about sustainability. The survey, which closes 19 July is open to both primary and secondary teachers. Please share this survey with your chemistry and science colleagues.

How can we best support teacher trainees post pandemic?

Monday 28 June, 3.15-4.15pm

Join us for a roundtable discussion on the impact of Covid-19 on teacher training with an expert panel, including Dame Alison Peacock, CEO, Chartered College of Teaching, Emily Yeomans, NTP Director at the Education Endowment Foundation, and Sarah Robertson Director, Education & Professional Practice.

It’s been a tumultuous time to train to be a teacher. This panel discussion will be an opportunity to learn more about the actions we at the RSC have taken to help trainee teachers, in response to the pandemic, and the actions we’re now calling on the government to take.

Can you help us find out how working life is changing?

Information is power. Join in with the Pay & Reward Survey 2021 as we collectively build a picture of life in the chemical sciences today, in order to more effectively advance chemistry together. The survey is open until 15 July.

This year’s survey, open to RSC members only, will explore how Brexit and the COVID-19 pandemic have changed things for you, and issues around pay parity and differing working experiences. Check your email for your unique link to take part. If you’re an RSC member and you haven't received your link please contact us.
