Emily MacLeod
Emily is a researcher at IOE, UCL’s faculty of education and society.
Emily has recently completed her PhD in education at UCL and is an Executive Board Member of the European Science Education Research Association (ESERA). In the context of severe science teacher shortages, Emily’s doctoral research considers why many young people do not pursue science teaching as a first career despite previously expressing an aspiration to do so. Before starting her PhD Emily worked for four years on the ASPIRES research project (from which the secondary data used in her PhD originate), and as a secondary school teacher.
