Thursdays, 19 September–17 October, 7–8pm BST, online
The Royal Society of Chemistry are hosting a series of five online events in collaboration with Science and Plants for Schools (SAPS), the Institute of Physics (IOP) and CLEAPSS. These sessions are designed to support new teachers as they begin or continue their journey in science education. They are primarily aimed at teachers who have been teaching less than five years but if teachers would like a reminder of the support that is available they would also be welcome to attend.
Three of the sessions are facilitated by our partners at CLEAPSS, IOP and SAPS and are run by experts in their field. They will give key information about the organisations that they represent and how they can support teachers in teaching physics, using plant biology and staying safe in the School Science laboratory. All sessions will provide time to ask questions.
The sessions take place over September and October 2024 and are great precursor to our Early career teacher teaching strategies SPD course, but also suitable as standalone sessions.
All sessions in this series
- Support and resources for teachers from the Royal Society of Chemistry
Thursday 19 September, 7–8pm BST - Behaviour management in the science classroom (RSC)
Thursday 26 September, 7–8pm BST - Teaching biology with plants 101 (SAPS)
Thursday 3 October, 7–8pm BST - Planning for safe practical work (CLEAPSS)
Thursday 10 October, 7–8pm BST - Support and resources for new teachers from the Institute of Physics (IOP)
Thursday 17 October, 7–8pm BST
Though the sessions are part of a series teachers can sign up to attend any that suit them, there is no requirement to attend all sessions.
