Joshua Piggott

Joshua is a primary school class teacher who leads on the science curriculum. He recently was awarded the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Early career prize for excellence in primary education for dedication, enthusiasm and effectiveness in the delivery of quality-first science pedagogy for children aged 4–9, while breaking down the stereotypes of the classic portrayal of a scientist.

Joshua is passionate about raising aspirations, engagement and attainment in STEM learning and, in turn, for STEM careers. He currently leads science CPD as an accredited STEM Facilitator for a local cluster of primary schools and is also actively involved in projects like STEM Learning’s ENTHUSE Partnership. His wider interests include metacognition and self-regulation and its impact within the classroom.
