Regrettably, we have closed our titration and aspirin synthesis screen experiments while we consider options for a long-term replacement.
These simulations helped hundreds of thousands of students practice carrying out titrations and prepare to synthesise aspirin in their school classroom. However, launched over 10 years ago, the software they used has aged and cannot be maintained.
We are keen to provide a modern replacement for these virtual laboratory experiences. We are working to identify suitable support to help us develop the next generation of online practical experiments for school students.
Our screen experiments were originally developed with Learning Science and the University of Bristol. We’d also like to thank Simon Rees (formerly chemistry teaching fellow at Durham University) for his help and advice during the development of the supporting teaching resources.
