We have just launched the first topic resource packages on the RSC Education website. You can now find our best support for teaching Atomic model and Structure and bonding, to learners aged 14–16 years, in one place.

The search is over
Having thousands of teaching resources – including great practical experiments, lesson plans, scaffolded worksheets, fantastic CPD and teaching ideas articles, plus career profiles, science research news summaries and much more – should be a good thing. But we know from our own research and your feedback that teachers can find all this content overwhelming and don’t have time to search for resources.
Now you can easily see at a glance how RSC Education can help you, whether you are planning a whole lesson, need a worksheet to test understanding, want to add some real-world context to a topic or are just looking for a fresh idea.
What’s in a package?
We worked with teachers to create a structure for resources within each package based on their purpose. We then collated our best resources using this structure, and where we found gaps, we commissioned brand new resources to fill them.
Prepare – find support before you teach, link to CPD to check your own understanding, read up on misconceptions or get fresh ideas for teaching a topic.
Deliver – classroom-ready resources and engaging practical experiments to develop learners’ knowledge of the topic.
Assess – find questions to check understanding at different stages of teaching. Ramped and scaffolded worksheets will help every student build their knowledge and confidence.
Enrich – add real-world context to topics with science research news or career profiles, find stretch and challenge materials, plus games and projects to engage and enthuse learners.
Literacy – each topic resource package includes our new literacy support with reading, writing, speaking and listening activities linked to the curriculum.
What’s next?
Now that we have the capability on our website, we are busy curating more topic packages. Look out for the first package for learners aged 11–14 next month and further packages later this year.
