Use our curriculum explorer to find teaching resources by topic and subtopic for science and healthcare science T-levels
The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) are very pleased to have completed a mapping exercise to link our teaching resources to the core science components of the T-levels in science and healthcare science.
T-level teachers can now use our curriculum explorer to find resources by topic and subtopic in their subject. Select your region and relevant qualification using the drop-down menus and click through to find high-quality resources, created and reviewed by teachers.
Working with Gatsby
Gatsby’s Technical Education Networks (TEN) programme supported this project as part of their work to increase curriculum support for T-level teachers. A link to RSC’s curriculum explorer is now available on Gatsby’s TEN website, along with resources for a series of T-level topics including working within the health and science sectors, good scientific and clinical practice, and health, safety and environmental regulations and practice.
Charlie Moss, head of further education curriculum support at Gatsby, said: ‘We have enjoyed working with the RSC and hope this mapping project supports technical education teachers, including T-level teachers, access the RSC teaching materials and use these with their students. There are a range of resources available that cover large sections of the science and healthcare science T-level content and potentially other T-level pathways as well.’
The project involved working with current T-level teachers to finalise the mapping, ensuring it is suitable for the curriculum. As well as key teaching resources and experiments, there are relevant career profiles and science research news stories to help enrich teaching and engage learners with the core science content. Just as with all specifications included on the curriculum explorer, we will periodically update the mapping to add relevant new resources.
Over 250 schools and colleges in England now teach T-level qualifications, with more than 30,000 students starting a T-level since their inception in 2020.
