Stuart Sherman
Stuart is a senior challenge adviser in the central south consortium of local authorities in Wales. He works with local authority officers, along with teachers and leaders in secondary schools to challenge, support and develop their practice to raise standards.
He has extensive experience in education founded on 25 years of teaching mathematics and science in secondary schools in Wales and England. Following a role as a local authority adviser in Northamptonshire, with a broad responsibility for science, assessment for learning and school improvement, he became a national strategies regional science adviser for the department for education in the West Midlands. This enabled him to support local authorities and schools, and to contribute to the development of teaching and raising of science standards at a national level in England.
Since 2004 he has been an inspector in primary and secondary schools across England and Wales.
