When schools closed in March 2020 due to the Covid-19 virus, none of us knew this was the beginning of a pandemic, with lockdowns, social distancing, mask-wearing and vaccinations about to become our only topics of conversation. Covid is still with us, and the impact of those lockdowns will be with us for decades to come. In this article, Education in Chemistry reflects on the dissonance between partying officials and teaching remotely, while encouraging the science teaching community to share their experiences of the pandemic so far.
