We’re coming to the end of term – and even though schools are closing for the summer, Teach Chemistry will be here throughout. So, you can continue to enjoy access to support and resources.
Have a great summer break.
Topic resource packages now available
We’re excited to announce we’ve launched our first topic resource packages.
You can now find everything you need to teach key chemistry topics in one easy place. Just visit the resource package for a curriculum topic, and you’ll find all the relevant support you need at a glance:
- Easy planning as each topic breaks down into teaching stages.
- Improve learner understanding with literacy support by topic .
- Ready-to-use, editable resources, created and validated by teachers.
- You can start using our resources for the atomic model, and structure and bonding for learners aged 14–16 years right away.
New AFIC careers resource
Link your classroom practicals to a career in chemistry with our print-out game for students.
Use the resource to connect the experiments your students are doing in the classroom with real-life careers – each careers card features a QR code that students can scan to explore their future careers. We now offer them in English and Welsh.
Leadership mentoring for chemistry teachers
Getting insight from an expert mentor is beneficial at any stage in your career, not just at the beginning. If you’re a head of science or chemistry (or equivalent) at a secondary school in the UK or Ireland, the Royal Society of Chemistry wants to empower you to keep growing and fulfil your potential.
We’re pairing teachers in department leadership roles with mentors who work in leadership roles within industry.
New teacher sessions
September to October | online
The RSC presents a series of five online events in collaboration with Science and Plants for Schools, the Institute of Physics and CLEAPSS. These sessions aim to support new teachers as they begin or continue their journey in science education. They are primarily aimed at teachers who have been teaching less than five years but teachers seeking a reminder of available support would also be welcome to attend.
