Claire Hill

Claire Hill is head of English and media studies at a secondary school in Kent. She has established a teacher research group which engages with significant pieces of educational research – feeding key insights and implications into wider school continuous professional development (CPD). She has also introduced a new approach to performance management whereby teachers' targets are based on improving teaching practice through specific strategies identified in research. Teachers discuss, experiment with, evaluate and share these strategies both with the department and across the wider school.

Claire is also engaged in a consultancy role with a local secondary school; supporting and developing their teaching practice with the aim of improving English examination results through the introduction of research-informed practice.
