How collaboration between industry, science organisations and schools can raise learners’ aspirations
There is a clear intersectional class barrier when it comes to accessing careers in science. Financial, geographical, social and familial barriers make it difficult for school students to access career pathways into the sciences. This needs to change. Schools, professional bodies, learned societies and employers can work together to create opportunities for young scientists, and give them both the aspiration and strategies for successful routes into working in science.
