
Andrew Parsons
Andy is an experienced ambassador both for chemistry and for excellence in chemical education at all levels. He is a regular contributor to articles and textbooks, including the undergraduate textbook Chemistry3. In his role as an admissions tutor he has undertaken substantial outreach work. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
In January 2017 he delivered Exploring Everyday Chemistry, the first ever University of York massive open online course (MOOC) . Following a re-run in July 2017 the course attracted over 9000 learners from over 100 countries.
Andrew’s achievements have been recognised by a vice-chancellor’s teaching award, a Royal Society of Chemistry higher education teaching award and he is a senior fellow of the higher education academy.
