It is a good idea, but not essential, that the students have already completed the module on Innovation, where the case studies are introduced.
Learning outcomes: Students should learn and retain the distinction between income and expenditure and between revenue and capital budgets. They should understand the different types of cost – fixed and variable and be able to assign costs into these categories. They should be able to prepare a simple project budget, if appropriate using discounted cash flow (DCF) methods to value future income streams.
